Rotti .....Rotte’s in the Cincinnati area,
The spelling of our name was Rotti at the time of the USA Civil War
Changed to Bernard Rotte by the turn of the century

Bernard Rotti born May 8, 1824 in Baden Germany (Germany “St Martin" in Urloffen bestatigt: Urloffen den 24, Marz 1966 Eraz Katholisches Pfarramt)
Died February 11, 1902 in Cincinnati, Ohio

Bernard Rotti move to the USA Cincinnati, Ohio about 1850
Here in Cincinnati he worked and served in the Union Army during the Civil War, His name was clearly spelled as Rotti on the Union Rolls until he applied for a pension when it was clearly ROTTE
Bernard’s wife was Magdalene Beckmann born in France about 1834 Married here in Cincinnati at St Johns Church on Green Street m 2/1/1854

Bernard’s father was Jgnaz Rotti (Ignaz) August 02, 1786 Baden Baden, Germany
He was a Master Tailor. His mother was Johanna Joggerst

Jagnaz Rotti’s father was Anton Rotti Baden Baden, Germany he was a Master Tailor
Jgnaz mother was Barbara Worner married Anton February 05, 1810

Bernard Rotte had two sons and two daughters
Louis born 7/25/ 1855 died about 1897 he was a whiskey salesman
Charles who was born April 24, 1870 died March 25, 1934

William Rotte... ran away and joined the Army as/changed his name to William Roth served in the army as a recruiter here in Cincinnati later in the Army Air Corp. during WWI

Philip J Rotte born March 18, 1891 died 1952.... he went to join army during WWI his bother William Roth would not let him join. So he went to Kentucky and joined at Fort Thomas, Kentucky he served with the first division during WWI
