Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

The 1790 federal census is posted at the following address:
ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/nc/rowan/census/1790.txt

It shows a Joseph Bowen, and a William Bowman, in Rowan County. I will keep looking through some of my other stuff and will let you know if I come up with any other info. By the way, Davidson County was part of Rowan. Davidson was not created until 1822, with county seat at Lexington.

I will check Carolina Cradle in the next couple of days and see if Bowen or Bowman comes up.
