I'm a direct descendant of Josiah Rounsavall of Rowan County
North Carolina. His son, John, left NC after the Revolutionary War and moved to Scottsboro, AL. Josiah and John are both mentioned in the DAR book of Distinguished Families of Rowan County. He was a Presbyterian minister and also served as Sheriff of Rowan County. He died in a British prison during the war. His son John served in the SC militia. Other information is available by other relatives and is available in the DAR book. A copy of this book can be found by calling the Daughters of the American Revolution, Rowan County,North Carolina.
