I have some information on Peter Rout (Routt). In 1729 he had a land grant of 714 acres on both sides of the Great Run on the north side of the Rappahannock River (Fauquier County - county below Loudoun). The name Rout's Hill still is shown on maps near the mouth of Great Run.

In 1790, a James Rout (Routt) by the direction of Richard Henry Lee, laid off eight acres which became the Main Street of Warrenton, Virginia, county seat of Fauquier.

They may be related.
