ROWE DNA Project website launched

The ROWE DNA Project website has now been established on World Families Network. Check it out on the Rowe DNA Project: Home Page http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/r/rowe/index.html

Add your ROW Pedigree and Family Ancestry details to the site as I have. Also I encourage you to find out more about the impact Y-Chromosome DNA testing is having on contemporary family history research, particularly surname-specific projects i.e. helping researchers on common or related families work together to find their common heritage.

I’ve been pursuing my family history for the last 10 years. In recent times, I have found an abundance of information in BMD and Census databases on the Internet. This has enabled me to augment the extended families of my UK ROW ancestors for the 1800's and early 1900's.

However, tracing my ROW ancestors before mid-1700 has proved increasingly difficult. I believe I have almost exhausted making any further connections using the traditional methodologies and tools available to family researchers.

I'm hoping that future DNA matches provide the glue that connects seemingly unrelated ROW families and “kick start” my family history research.
