My maiden name is Rowbottom ,Iwas born in Wakefield. My grandfather John Jennings Rowbottom was born here, He was a greatgrandpa Hugh, parents worked on the keelboat, The Nancy which carried goods between Knottingley and Wakefield. They appear on the census 1881 port of kingston upon Hull.they were called John and Heneretter,there children were Herbert 13 Emley 9 and Jane Sarah 7 James 4 and Heneretter 2. they were all born between Goole , Hull , Wakefield. Hugh was the eldest aged 14 and he lodged with his aunt and Thornhill st wakefield. Uncle John was an engine driver. Most of the family were either on the canals or Railway.Hope may help. get in touch, I could have other information . Marie
