Census: 1880; English Twp., Jersey Co., Illinois. Age 62. Born Illinois. Living with wife and 1 aughter. Parents born Tennessee. FHL film 1254216.
Marriage: Married to Elizabeth McKinney (daughter of Abram McKinney and Mary) on 04 Nov 1838 in, Greene Co., Illinois.
Marriage: Marriage records of Jersey Co., Illinois give marriage of James S. Rowden to Mary J. Stewart on 12 Mar 1888. Age of James S. at the time of his marriage given as 61, which would be 10 years younger than census ages given.
