I have a Martha Rowswell/Rowsell on the 1841 Census aged 10 living in Middleton by Youlgreave, Derbyshire with her grandmother. Her grandparents were George Rowland & Sarah Wright but I have been unable to find out who her parents are. The census indicates that she wasn't born in Derbyshire, and I gather that the surname is a west country name. She is mentioned in George Rowland's Will in 1840. She cannot be found on the 1851 Census, nor can a marriage or death be found.

Does anyone know the origins and destiny of Martha? If so, I would love to hear from you.

Regards, Kaye
