Thursday, July l7, l924

MARY STORER, daughter of RICHARD and MARY STORER, was born in Muskingum County, Ohio, Feb. 25, l83l, and died at her home in Leon, July 6, l924, aged 93 years, 4 months and ll days.

She was united in marriage to WM. B. MCDONOUGH, December 25, l849. In l869, fifty years ago, they removed to Decatur County, Iowa, where she spent the remainder of her life; MR. MCDONOUGH died Oct. 3, l903.

Eight children blessed their home; MRS. EMMA L. PEUGH, of Leon; MRS. MARY BOTHWELL, of Leon; MRS. J.E. CHICK, of Seattle, Washington; ALICE, (*can't read - large tear in paper) N., of Moravia, Iowa; WILL, of Esparto, Cal.; MRS. W.A. ROYER, of Enid, Oklahoma, and BRICE, of Leon, Iowa. All the surviving children were privileged to have been at her bedside during her last illness.

She also leaves to mourn, 8 grandchildren, l4 great grandchildren, and l great great grandchild, and innumerable friends.

She united with the Presbyterian Church in her childhood, removing her membership to the church at Leon, of which church she remained a faithful and loyal member until her death. She gave a long lifetime of service to her Master. To few is it given to measure so long a span of years. But not only did she enjoy a length of years, her life was crowned with the glory of service throughout all her years. Hers' was not death but just a departing to join the greater company of her friends upon the other side.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, July 7th, from the Presbyterian Church, burial following in the beautiful Leon Cemetery. Rev. T.F. Campbell, a former Pastor of the Leon Church, conducted the services.

We wish to sincerely thank our friends and neighbors for their many kindnesses shown us during the illness and death of our beloved mother. Especially, we wish to thank all those who sent flowers, and the choir and the pall bearers.
