Here is where I place William Henry Royer. I have more info and some documents but I thought you might like a summary first.
Jean Royer (1618- ) + Marie Paise (c1600-1695)
Jean Royer (c1635-c1675) + Marie Targer (1642-1712)
Jean Royer (1671-1743) + Catherine-Marguerite Dumont dit Lefleur (1675-1757)
Augustin Royer (1703-1790) + Marie-Angelique Pepin dit Lachance (1711-1790)
Louis Royer (1749-1831) + Marie-Anne Lacroix (c1755-1830)
Barthelemi Royer (1794-1881) + Marie-Genevieve Demers (1796-1853)
Immigrant to Vermont aka John Riggie:
Jean-Baptiste Royer (1826-1904) + Victoire Gingras (1824-1884)
Jean-Baptiste had Edouard Royer, Louis Royer (aka Lewis Riggie), Jean Royer (aka John Riggie), Barthelemi Royer (aka Bart Riggie), Guillaume Henri Royer (aka William Henry Riggie), and possibly Joseph William Royer. I come from Jean and you are interested in Guillaume. I’d be interested in finding out how you fit in and sharing what I have with you. However, your other posts suggest your line is not related closely to mine.
Guillaume Henri Royer (aka William Henry Riggie) was born 06 FEB 1864 (bap 2/10/1864 St-Romould) and died in Island Pond VT 24 NOV 1934. He married Marie M Goupil (possibly aka Mary Goupee) 15 NOV 1892. She was born 06 OCT 1873 Canada and died 16 AUG 1949 North Strafford NH although she is buried in Island Pond.
Guillaume and Marie had William Henry Riggie and Lena Marie Riggie. You have William Jr listed as Royer probably because they tended to use their French Canadian names on baptismal records while continuing to use the Americanized version in public. All instances of William show Riggie as the name he used.
William Henry Riggie was born 21 AUG 1893 East Brighton VT and died 14 MAR 1968 St Johnsbury VT. He married Melvina Florence Dubois 13 Jul 1917 Island Pond VT. She was born 12 AUG 1894 Island Pond VT and died 04 APR 1957 Hanover NH. They had Cecile Theresa Riggie, Lucile Thelma Riggie, M Cleone Riggie, Brian Maynard Riggie, and William Riggie.
Thanks to you for fleshing out the childrens’ names. Some of the info on this branch was acquired from various internet sources and, due to my early lack of experience, I don’t have sources. However, I have collected census and war record info on this branch to basically confirm the internet sources.
If you’d like me to share my documents just email me with some appropriate subject line so I don’t delete your email by mistake! Take care.
