I have found Joseph's parents and more information on his ancestors (which is also my family). Joseph was the son of Pierre Royer and Marguerite Jette and was born in 1799 in St. Denis sur Richelieu. The lady he married was Dorothee Aubuchon. To find the marriage record on Ancestry.com, you have to type in either Joseph Roque or Lorothie Aubuchon as there were errors in the record translations. They were married in 1822 in Berthierville, PQ. I haven't looked up any of their children yet, but you can probably do that. I don't know why some parish priests spelled Royer as Rogue or Roque, but they did.

Regarding Dorothee: On Charles and Emelie Landry's marriage record in 1861, her name is listed as Dorothee Buchon, dit Desalliers (another name for Aubuchon). Charles' name is listed as Rodier, dit Comtois (which is another name for Royer). If you could send me your e-mail, I can send you the printout I took off of Rootsweb, which appears to be accurate. My e-mail address is: rogersabuf@yahoo.com.
Another good source of information is the Tanguay Genealogy Dictionary, online at:
