Hello Majorie,
For some reason your response to my posting on the Royster site did not get sent to me. I did just find it while visiting the site.
It is interesting how some family members can get isolated within the family.I have not researched your line on down, so I don't know about the story of disownment. On some of those occasions, a son or daughter might have been eliminated from the will of a person, because that child had been given what was, in the mind of the legator, their fair share of his/her estate, and they would feel disowned.Let's hope that was the situation in this case.Did he move a pretty good distance from his family? He may have been provided some or all of the expense for making that move, and thus thought to have already acquired his inheritance.I suppose that some attitudes evolved out of their own perspective of the actual event.
Best regards,
