The surname is spanish orgin. The phrase was introduced by the moors, who were the medieval muslim inhabitants of what is present day spain and portugal. The phrase is arabic, but the last name was not created by the moors it was created by the spainish. The arabic influence, was just a sign of the times in medieval spain.
