I found in a box lot from an auction a little note book with the following info. Ray Louis Cassel born 3-27-1984 at old Ruckel farm south of Eubanks, KY about 2 miles. Father John Cassell born in MO and mother Cora Ruckel Cassell born near Toledo Ohio. When one yaer old lived near (?) IL. then returned to KY. My brother Carl (Earl ? first letter could have been an C or E)Cassell born 10-20-1896 near Floyds' or Newell, KY. On old Floyd plantation owned by grandfather Ruckle. My father died 6-29-1901 and mother, brother and I went to live with grandfather Ruckle. I was injuried 8-27-1908 was a total invalid until 11-1911 when could walk with crutches. My brother left home 2-23-1913 lived in IN until 1914 moved to IL remained there until 6-1914 when my grandfather Ruckle was killed by a train. My brother went to the army from Il in 1914. Jan 1918 my brother has now been in Panama more than two years and has reached the rank of sgt. In June 1918 my brother
returned frm Panama as a radio sgt and went to Francein 10-1918 returned to USA in 3-1919. Came home in 6-1919 as a reservist of the regular army having served 4 1/2 years. In 9-1919 I left the postal service and went to live with my mother and brother at 426 Clark (?) street and worked at sewing baseballs. On Dec 26, 1919 my brother went to Akron, Ohio then on Jan 7, 1920 came to Dayton, Ohio.
