Monclova Ohio Soldier's Monument

Four sons of Christopher and Catherine Ruckel were killed in the Civil War. There was a GAR post founded in Monclova, Ohio dedicated to them. There is also a monument in Swan Creek Cemetery in Monclova dedicated to the Civil War dead from that village. The names of two of the Ruckel boys, Philip and David, are on the monument. There is an effort underway to restore it. Contributions should be sent to The Monclova Historical Foundation, Soldier's Monument, 8115 Monclova Road, Monclova, OH 43452. Thanks to Carole Richardson for sending me the information about this effort.
