My great-grandmother Catherine Ruckle Wells had a brother, Phillip Ruckel (the spelling varied within the family) who was killed in the Civil War as well as three of his brothers, John, David and George. They were from the area of Maumee, OH and children of Christopher and Catherine Ruckel Ruckle (1st cousins). Philip however was born in 1837, so he could not be your Mary's father. The father Christopher had no children named Mary either nor any siblings named Mary or Philip. Christopher's father was named Philip (1774- ). Christopher and family came from Limerick County, Ireland in the 1840's. They were of German descent.

If your Mary is indeed from Monclova and her father was named Philip, this would imply that there was another Ruckel family in the Maumee, OH area around the time of the Civil War.

I have a lot of information on the Christopher and Catherine Ruckle Family if you are interested.
