Oddly enough, in my mother's genealogy early on we have info on Rudolph's from Wurtemburg, Germany. I show that a George Rudolph Sr. came here to Virginia prior to 1780 from Wurtemburg. If it helps anyone, he had a son Geo. Jr. who was born in Germany in 1764, by 1792 he had acquired land in Shenandoah Co., Virginia. So when exactly Geo. Sr. came here is unsure. Geo. Jr. married Christina Hotsinpiller which also has been spelled Hatssenbieller and Hatzenbuhl. Supposedly she was on the ship "Mortonhouse" from Rotterdam, Holland (where she originates) along with immigrants from the Palatine section of Germany.
