Martin A. Ruesch was born on January 26, 1914 in Seward Township, Nobles County, Minnesota to Ernest and Margaret Buss Ruesch. He grew up on the family and attended Country School District #37. In 1954 he and his mother moved to a home on the lake in Fulda. On April 3, 1956 he and Lanora Duggen were married at her parents home in Rose Hill Township, Cottonwood County, MN. Following their marriage they made their home on the north shore of Seven Mile Lake in Fulda. In 1960 they moved to Lanora parents home and farmed. Martin also did tiling work throughout the Fulda and Worthington area. In 1975 they retired and moved to Fulda. Martin moved to Mapleview Estates in 2000. Lanora passed away on January 5, 2003. Due to failing health Martin moved to Our House Hospice Home in Slayton in August 2006 and passed away there on January 12, 2007 at the age of 92. He was a member of the Immanuel American Lutheran Church in rural Fulda, and served as the financial secretary for the church. Martin and Lanora enjoyed traveling and took many bus trips across the United States and Canada. Martin always enjoyed finding ingenious ways of repairing anything. Martin enjoyed playing pool at Senior Citizens and in his younger years Martin was on a bowling team, and went spear fishing.

Survivors include his brother, Walter and his wife Minnie Ruesch of Fulda, MN, one sister-in-law, Margaret Ruesch of Worthington, MN, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Mavis Duggen and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lanora, two sisters, Alma Miller, and Theresa Goedtke, three brothers, Ernest, Robert, and Clarence Ruesch, two nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services were held at Immanuel American Lutheran Church rural Fulda, MN on January 15, 2007 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Kristi Mitchell officiating. The organist was Ron Janssen with special music by Linda Lund. The pallbearers were Leonard Ruesch, Larry Ruesch, Lloyd Ruesch, Dale Ruesch, Lyle Ruesch, and Rodney Ruesch. Interment at Immanuel American Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fulda, MN.
