John Rugg and his Origin
This is just food for thought/discussion.There is some question as to the origin of John Rugg in that no difinitive conection can be made from the Old World to the New.
Perhaps John Rugg was born in Barbados or some other English island. (A pirate perhaps?)The reasoning behind this thought is that the Prescott girls came to America from England via Barbados. The Prescott family was/is prominent in Barbados at the time. There is a description of the Prescott family and business activities (sugar and shipping) in James Mischners book "Caribbean".I think that the idea is worthy enough to warrant a trip (particularly at this time of year) to Barbados to check it out. What do you all think?Bruce A.
