Wes,
THANK YOU, for contacting me!I've been "chasing my tail" a bit on this one and after being thoroughly convinced by a descendant of the "real" Dr. Demetrius Maltravis Rumph that he had indeed NOT married my gr-aunt's step-daughter, I had despaired of where to turn to look for another "Mal".
You have provided the clue, and I await the end of your semester.
The genealogy bug that bit Dr. Mal must have also bitten my "Aunt Sallie" as well, as all of the people in my line who have any information at all on the Knighton and Morgan lines have received their info via a genealogy she prepared in 1960 before her death in 1966.She got things mixed up in a lot of places that have sent me down blind alleys many times, but perseverance has paid off and I've broken through several brick walls in my own research, thanks to google!
Anyway, much success in your finals and I'll wait to hear from you.
Feel free to write me directly at [email protected].
Linda
P.S. For the connection to my line, you'll be looking for Eliza Butts and David Maltravis (spelled variously)Rumph.Eliza was my gr-grandmother's 1/2 sister (Margaret Viola Knighton Morgan). My gr-aunt is Margaret's daughter and the one who married Robert Ross Darrah, a widower, who already had 2 daughters by his first wife.
