Hi Frances:
My name is Ed Holbrook and my grandfather was Elijah Sylvester Hammock. He was born in 1862 and the son of Martin Van Buren Hammock. I have reason to believe that MVB Hammock married a lady named Runion (Ihave her first name but need to go thru my records to find it). She was from around Meigs County Ohio and Jackson County, WV. They had a daughter named Dora and my speculation is that shortly after her birth around 1858 the mother must have died. MVB married Mary Clark and ulimately produced 3 children. If this is of any value please let me know.
