Wow, thanks for the response.
I am presently at my desk at work but I shall bring that census info tomorrow. Would you prefer I post it here or I can send it to your e-mail address if you send it to my e-mail address which is ldycashew@yahoo.com. The Mary Ann Tinker I am looking for was married to William Squire Runion. She had to have been born in 1831 but that conflicts later on with the census of 1870 showing her with George S in the home as well as Samuel and Margaret and she is head of household at the time.
This is where I have problems. The Mary Ann Tinker born 1842 would have made her nine years old when she married William Squire which doesn't sound right to me. Also, on the 1870 census with her children, William S, Margaret, George S b 1868 a daughter born after that, she was 28 at the time of the census making her born in 1842. That census Ilooked under George S Runnion I think or maybe Runion) and found them. The info I have says William Squire was killed in a war in 1863 which means he could not have sired George and his sister, William and Margaret yes according to their birth dates but Mary An would have only been 13 when she gave birth to William Samuel. Then in 1863
William Squire died supposedly in a war. If he would have been killed or so around 1867 I could understand him being the father of George S and his sister. Maybe that date is not correct. Oh wow, I hope I am on the right track because I have never come across an ancestor that has been this difficult to find. If Nancy Gillis married a Wells, (I think it was Troy Wells of Kingsport, TN). he was about 10 years younger than her and they had three boys, I have all their names and dates of birth but not with me. I found them living together in a later census under Troy Wells Kingsport Sullivan Co. TN. Their was a tad of difference in some of the dates but I know it was them. Will clarify all that to you tomorrow. Berry Lee Runnion who was the son of George and Nan I have found several pieces of information on him. I found him living in a home as head of household with mother Nancy and a brother named Robert in district, oh heck I forget.
One thing confused me, why did Mary Ann name George Samuel and William Samuel both with the same middle name. Do you think she may have named William Squire after his father or do you know for sure his name was Samuel. I have only seen it listed as William S and George is always listed as George S. Because George S was born much later you would think he would be Samuel don't know what do you think?
Do they originate also from Sarah who married a Runnion but no one seems to know his first name. Here we go again.
I am sorry I do not have all info with me but will get it to you tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
thanks so much dear distant cousin for responding.
Linda (Runion).
