Ruppert Brewery NY
Jacob Ruppert Sr. b.1844 married Anna Gillig and they had 6 children listed on the 1880 Census; Cornelice b.1866, Jacob RUPPERT 8/05/1867-01/14/1939, Annie b.1870, Frank b.1872, George E. RUPPERT b.1875 and Amanda b.1879.
Son Jacob "Jake" RUPPERT later owned the Yankees and the Ruppert Brewery. His brother George E. RUPPERT was VP & Sec. of the Brewery, likely also an owner. Two of Jake's sisters married and relations were at his bedside when he died. One, Mrs. Harry Garrison SILLECK Jr., had a son H.Garrison SILLECK the 3rd. The other, Mrs. Herman Schalk, was deceased in 1939, but had a daughter Anna Schalk. I don't know if the other children survived and had children. A good biography on Jake probably would help. Many family stories suggest connections to the Ruppert Brewery, but Jake never married and so had no children. Any connection would have to be to Frank or George E. Ruppert, if they married. As yet no one has published a GED on Rootsweb that connects to Jake and Anna Gillig RUPPERT, though perhaps a ged is on some other service. Jake is buried in Kensico Cemetery in the family Mausoleum.
