My name is Irvin Matthew Elias Rupp, my Grandfather grew up in Pennsylvania as a boy, we are "Pennsylvania Dutch", he always says that is what our people were dubbed because we came to America so long ago (1700's), he, as I refer to ourselves as Germans or Pennsylvania Germans. His name is Irvin Elias Rupp, my father, his son, Irvin Carlton Rupp. I would like to help anyone out that possibly related to me, as I would also like the same help. I can tell you I have traced our particular family origin to a few relatives who came to America in the 1700's and immediately settled in Pennsylvania, some of the original land is still in the family. And I know that we came from Essen, Germany and from what I can tell we are related to the Krupp's in Germany. This is backed up because it has been said in our family that as all immigrates do when coming to the United States, they try to Americanize their names, so the 'K' was dropped from Krupp, making us Rupp's. Now another story is, that the person who handled my relatives immigration to America, changed it without asking or saying anything, the reason for this I will not get into as it's not relevant and also hearsay on what was said between the two men so long ago. Now PLEASE any Rupp's out there who have ties from Pennsylvania, or surrounding states please contact me so that we can help one another piece more of our family history together if in fact we are related, the only way to find out is to converse on the subject. My e-mail is IMERUPP@GMAIL.COM So please don't hesitate to contact me even if you are unsure on the matter. Hope to hear from whomever this message catches their fancy.
