Diana, I have data on your Reuben Rusco (b. 19 Feb. 1770, CT; d. 19 April 1868, Washington Co., WI) whom I believe is my ancestor, too. He married Sarah LAWTON, a native of Rhode Island, presumably sometime between 1800-1805 in New York State where their children were born. Based on my research years ago, I believe they are the parents of at least one more son than you have for them. You named Nelson (b. ca 1807), Russell (b. ca 1811/12), Reuben Sherman (b. 18 Oct. 1816, Onondago Co., NY), James B. (b. ca 1820) and John Boughton (b. ca 1823).

I believe the son unknown to you was Adam, my ggggrandfather. I've been told someone holds a Rusco Family Bible listing his birth as 7 Oct. 1809, Charleston, Montgomery Co., NY; his death on 13 July. No year! Adam's 1809 birth would place him in the birth order between Nelson and Russell. Based on my research, Adam died much younger than his siblings, thus he had less descendants and less is known about him.

I know more about his sons, George Washington Rusco (GWR) and Oscar A. Rusco (OAR). GWR, my gggrandfather, was born 3 Sept. 1833, Badwinsville, Onondago Co., NY; his brother, OAR, was born 21 March 1838, NY. Adam Rusco's name appears as the father in the records of GWR's death and OAR's marriage. Also in the latter is Adam's wife's name, Diana (she was a Dennis). How do I know GWR and OAR are brothers? I have two of GWR's diaries/journals from the mid-1850s in which he refers to Oscar as his brother and some of Reuben's and Sarah's sons as his uncles.

Interestingly, Reuben Sherman Rusco married Sarah A. Saunders, and GWR married her sister, Maryetta Saunders.

We have visited the West Bend, Wisconsin, area where the Ruscos and Saunders lived in the 1800s. Visited the graves of Rueben and Sarah (Lawton) Rusco.

I would be happy to share much more. Contact me, Diana, for my email to your address posted here was returned to me.
