Hi Terence,
If you would like to email me privately I will give you a lot of information on this branch and also contact details of the Ruscoes in New Zealand - descendants of Alfred Cooper Ruscoe's brothers and sisters.
Although he was born in New Zealand he came to England when he joined the 1st Life Guards, Household Cavalry. He spent time at the home of my grandmother in Cheshire along with his younger brother Arthur. They were cousins to my grandmother and she and her sisters thought Alfie quite dashing in his uniform!
And as you know Alfie was killed during the second battle of Ypres and he is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial there.
I am intrigued to hear that you may be his grandson and would be happy to help in any way. I will be able to identify the family members in your photos.
I look forward to hearing from you,
