There was a John Ruscoe who founded Norwalk, Conn., in 1639, and was its first mayor. There was a Charles Ruscoe who owned a jewelry store in New Canaan, Conn., for a number of years. There are still Ruscoes there, I believe. There is a Ruscoe Road that runs through Ridgefield and into Danbury, Conn. The name Lavinia is interesting, since I am interested in establishing the link between the family of Gen. Joseph Warren of Revolutionary War fame and the Ruscoe family. My great-grandmother, Lillian Ferguson Ruscoe is believed descended from the Warrens, but I don't know how. Lavinia Warren was a member of P.T. Barnum's original troupe -- she and Tom Thumb. We may be related!!! Richard Warren, by the way, came on the Mayflower. My grandfather, William Ferguson Ruscoe was born in Turn of River, N.Y., on April 12, 1865. I hope we can establish a link! Dianne Ruscoe Severance
