Hi all, i've just discovered my husband's family originates in Russia. Bessarabia, which from what i understand is a province? Anyway, his great grandfather listed his father as his next of kin on his WWI registration card, and where it asks the father's address, he wrote this:
Bessarabskoy guberne Hatenskago(?)uezeda Ruktanskoy (Kuktinskoy?)wolorte (woloste?) selo Chenonose Russia.
Does this make sense to anyone? It's technically not Russian, i know, but it's the english spelling of Russian words. Can anyone help? This seems to be the only clue as to where my ancestor is from. Thanks for any ideas!
