Julie I would say that your ancestor changed his surname when he was naturalized citizen. Was he naturalized citizen? FOSTY ? I sure would not say it is a Slavic surname ei. Russian. Wasil/Wasyl/Vasil/Vasily/Vasiliy - one and the same first name different languages. Seems that Anany is a good first name being that 53 do show up in EI www.ellisislandrecords.org Possible that DIMITROFF could be his "old country" surname. Further research in locating few more documents. Notify Administrator about this message?
