Family story from my Grandmother had it that an Uncle of hers was killed in 1917 Revolution.

Of Italian extraction (DONEGANI) he would have gone over from Lancs (Rochdale or Salford)to work on machinery exported 1911 (+ or - five years) to Russia.

This story I always treated with a pinch of salt until my Uncle (her son) informed us that my Gma indeed di viusit Russia before WWI.

On top of this I heard a similar story on BBC Antiques Road show but these peopel managed to escape.

Can any one
a Throw any light?
b or telll me if there isa ny info available in Russia that might help?
