Eugenie,

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your response which is so helpful to my search.

I looked at the entry for my great grandfather Nicholas Moralev and the intial for the 2nd name K matvhed with a document I have from the Ministry of Interiors and Seaways giving permission for his his daughter/my grandmother to travle from Omsk in late 1919. This document says Nicholas was in charge if the 'area' for the mimistry.

So it wouud appear that that person you have found in the memorial book could very likely be my great grandfather. Does the entry say anything else about him? What his position was? Why was he famous? What was he doing in 1916? Why would the date 1916 have been chosen? I think that is too early for his death. What do you suggest I do next to get more information. This is the FIRST information I have found..I am very excited.

Many thanks

Sue
