Hello, Sue!
Unfortunately I cannot give you any useful answers for questions. It was the only information I found on that side, no info about N.Moralev's proffesion and son. As far as I understood the date 1916 is a date of this book creation. They offer to make a copy from original of the book. Maybe it's better to send them a request. Not quickly but I can write them such request via email.
I will look for other links later and will let you know.
I want you to mention also about Russian surnames. If surname end with -iv or -in for women it'll end with -ova and -ina.
Kazan is a centre of Tatar republic now andwas it before. Moralev surname sounds to be Slavonic in spite of place (tatars usually have different surnames, recognazible). I think russian person in tatar region could be famous and well known.
Anyway I\ll keep in touch with you. Keep care

Evgenia
