searching for family

I am helping an uncle research his family. They are from Ukraine (they immigrated to the US around 1913/1914). Naturally, Ukraine was part of Russia and at times, Poland. This family is spelled Makoveck. They lived in Kovel and came to the US. Eventually, they ended up in Kenosha, WI.

As for the other family, they're from L'viv and their last name is Michalek. Again, they came to the US around 1906/1907 (I think they went to Chicago first) and eventually settled in Kenosha, WI.

I believe both families were Russian Orthodox.

Anything anyone can offer me would be great. As many folks have previously indicated, I have a feeling the last names may not be what they were when the family first came here. Thanks to all!
