I am confused as to why Lillian has so many variations on her surname. I dont find MULHYZE anywhere except where I have posted to ask about it on the net. On 1906 Canadian census it states that she immigrated from USA to Canada in 1904 http://data6.archives.ca/lizardtech/iserv/getimage?cat=sid&item=e/e049/e001211187.sid&rgn=0.0091973244,0.2890995261,0.3018394649,0.4372037915&wid=1400&hei=500&oif=jpg and 1916 Canadian census states that she was born in Russia. I have tried to look on Russian sites as well...no one anywhere lists the name MULHYZE. How then am I able to get a record when there is no such name? I was told that early records were written phonetically because only 10% of the population could read or write so they had to enter the name as it sounded when the person spoke it. What you say makes sense. Lillian must have some birth record but would I be able to find her information on her marriage certificate to William Alexander WILSON? I am unsure of the date of their marriage or where they even got married but since their first child was born in Saskatoon Canada I will start there. I'm sorry, I don't know much about getting records and don't have alot of excess money to spend on this :(. I will try to track down some sort of proper record. Thanks once again, I appreciate your time. Cherie
