Sharon,
This is a long shot, my great-great-great grandfather, Jeremiah Cahill married a Mary Ryan.Probably both were born in the late eighteenth century (1780's).Think they were County Clare, two of their children apparently lived in Kilmaley near Ennis in Clare.
Their grandchild, Thomas Jeremiah Cahill, emigrated to New Haven, Connecticut.Margaret McMahon Cahill, my great grandmother, was born in Milltown, Malbay, Clare. Her elder sister, Nora McMahon emigrated to St. Louis, Missouri.
Given your Cahill-Ryan marriage and emigration to Missouri, wondered if our families might be connected.Like you, have been doing a crash course in Irish political divisions and geography as well as history.
Look forward to hearing from you.
