Hello Saalfelds!!! This is very exciting cause usually I´m the only one with this last name...
I read some of your messages, and I realized that many of us may be actually connected, so here is my story.
My name is Karen Saalfeld, I´m 23 years old, I live in Santiago, CHILE, and I´m the great grand daughter of PAUL MARTIN SAALFELD, who left GARDELEGEN, GERMANY in 1910 and who was born in 1891, aprox. He and his family came to South America, and he ended up in Valdivia, Chile.
I wish to hear from you, and if you had any information about my line of the family, we would be really grateful. All we want is to find our family, specially for my grandfather, Santiago Waldemar, who is 82 years old and wishes to confirm that he belongs to a bigger family, and most of all, that there are roots binding him to it.

I´ve also heard of a Kathy Saalfeld who lives in the USA, she answered an e-mail I sent and probably belongs to one of your lines of the Saalfeld family.
