Hi. I recently found some more information which I think you may find helpful. Here we go ....
My grandfather is:

Died: Dec 1965 from Brain aneurism after having gall bladder or appendix surgery - Ohio

Brothers and Sisters: Alphonse, Matilda (or maybe Mathilda?), Leo, Clarence, Vincent, and Rosemary.
Married to: Irene Marie Veid (born 25 MAY 1904)
Child: Richard Elmer Saalfeld (born 26 MAY 1947)
Elmer's Father:
Alphonse Frank Saalfeld
Born: 24 NOV 1880 - Covington, KY
Married to: Susana Marie Kroutsch (born 26 APR 1880)
Elmer's Siblings:
Leo Saalfeld
Married: Martha
Children: John, Mary Kay (married name: Lanier), and Steve
Died: Early 1980s, Cincinnati OH (Martha still lives in Cincinnati)
Vincent Saalfeld
I do not believe he ever married
Died: Late 1980s or early 1990s, Cincinnati, OH
He was very fond of train whistles. That may sound odd, but that is what I remember most about him.
Rosemary Saalfeld (married name: Baldoni)
Died: 1999, Covington, KY
Married: Jack Baldoni
Children: Rosemary had no children, but Jack had a son when they got married. The son is married with two children of his own, living in Kentucky somewhere.
Alphonse, Matilda, and Clarence I don't know much about yet.
