Jane, I have census records here for a Saam family I thought was mine, but it turns out it isnt. They were in Richland Co Perry Twp Ohio. I too am from a Saam line but we arrived here in 1753 aboard the Neptune. Settled in Pa for a couple of generationsm then my direct line settle in PERRY CO Richland Twp.The spelling became SAUM.

Note that the counties and twps are backwards. This is how I stumbled on the Saam Census. DO you think this is your line? without digging out the census. I know one of the names was an Andrew and I think a henry. OH and also Adam. Im not sure of Nicholas.
