Hi, my great-grandmother was apparently John M. Saathoff's (b. Feb 1863) second wife- they never had children together however. But I found an excerpt about your grandfather in the book "The History of Medina County Texas" that i wanted to share with you- it follows:
John M. Saathoff, better known as Kansas John, was born in the Quihi Communiy on February 9, 1863 and passed away in the Elstone Community on October 14, 1947. A member of the Lutheran Church, Saathoff made his first trail drive to Kansas when he was a young man. He and Helena Bohlen were married and they lived in the Elstone Community all the rest of their lives. Helena, who was born on September 15, 1874, passed away on March 22, 1926. "
The excerpt goes on to tell about Eddie Saathoff and who he married and so on. Sorry there wasnt a marraige date specifically, but that is why I went back and looked for you. This book- by the Castro Colonies Heritage Association, Inc. has several sections about the Saathoff family. I would be happy to look something up for you if I can, although I only have copies of the book and dont have all the pages, there is a lot on the Saathoff's that is quite interesting.
