Thanks for the information you have given. You see my ancestor is a Saavedra. My great grandmother is Rafaela Saavedra born in the late 1800s( Philippines). And I really wish if someone could tell me more about the Saavedras. I know that my great grandmother was raised somewhere in those areas you've mentioned Siquijor and Dumaguete( maybe this is the other island you're referring to).
By the way, my grandfather went to Zamboanga City when he left home.My grandfather was the son of Rafaela Saavedra.
