My last name is Sabbagh, though my great-grandfather was from Damascus. My great-grandmother, however was from Aleppo. I came across your message while researching the name "Sabbagh" on Google.com. Maybe we're related. I had no idea that Sabbagh translated to "dyer"...that's interesting.
