I have Sabat possible. Been researching my maiden name: Sabin. Nick Sabin was born around 1889 in Cetinje, Montengro. His parents were a peter and a mary, no other info except same birthplace. Recently found a 20yr old letter from an aunt saying that Nick my grandfather was polish, born in Cetinje. His family, father, mother and brother sister were murdered during the uprising there at that time. My grandfather was visiting an aunt and made sure she got Nick out and I believe a brother, out of there,. But don't know where they started out in the US.
The letter also mentions that nick's real name was Nicholas Sabat. He changed it at some point in time, to Nick Sabin. no middle name. He also was married once before he married my grandmother, Susan D.C. Kiphart, which would of been her third marriage to my grandfather.
I sure can use some position help. Thank Serena
