Brad, This is great, I have also found a cousin of "ours" in Kansas, She is the ggrandaughter of John Alexander Saffell, the oldest of the Saffell boys in this line. I have a picture of six of the Saffell kids, taken in 1907. It shows your grandfather George, My grandfather James, and Elaine's ggrandfather John. It also has Edward and the two girls Caroline and Sarah. If you would like a copy of this picture, send me an E-mail with your address and I will send you one, I've had several made.
You are listed in the Saffell families book by name and birthdate, I just got listed as one of 8 kids.
You can get a copy of the Saffells book by inter-library loan. They won't let it out of the library but they did let me make copies of some of the pages.
My mother was James Newtons 4th child, her name was Carmen. I was born in 1945 and like you didn't get to know my grandfather as he passed away in 1935.
You can e-mail me at donju@icehouse.net.
I'll be waiting to hear from you.

Judy.
