Mary Elton Saffell and Thomas Laird

Page 34 of the Saffell book is very informative and has much information on our Isaac Saffell, who married Mercia Warner. Some of his children were listed, but our grandmother, Mary Elton Saffell, born in Harpers Ferry, Va. about 1813, was not mentioned. She married Thomas Laird and we have the descendancy from that marriage. They had 1 daughter, Elizabeth and 4 boys, one of whom was Isaac, who had John Warren, who had Raymond Glenn and I am a daughter of Raymond Glenn Laird. We know all of Thomas and Mary Elton Laird's children were born near Zanesville, Musk, Co. Ohio. The youngest son, Thomas Laird was born in Highland Co.Ohio, the same year his father died. In 1850, Mary Elton Saffell Laird, is shown to be the wife of the administrator of the Laird estate, Jacob Stauffer in Utica, Livingston Co., Mo. He died and she then married 100 yr. old Rev. War Veteran Joseph Webb. She would have been only 40-45 years old. We know Mary Elton was about 7 years old when her mother, Mercia died. Her father,Isaac married a widow, Elizabeth Swan Alfree. We found much on Elizabeth, but no mention of Isaac's children. He died in Rices Landing, Green Co. Pa. in 1830. We can find no information on her from that time until she married Thomas Laird. We believe he was the son of James. We find a connection with Jonas Shion marrying Isobelle Laird, daughter of James, and that James was living with them in Richland Co. Troy twp Ohio in the 1850 census, being 81 yrs. old. Two of the Shion daughters married Saffells.

I know this is lengthy, but our hope is that we can find more info on our Thomas Laird from anyone out there that has a Laird-Saffell connection. Thanks for any help you may give.
