SARA HURLEY
Sara Jane Hurley, 85, of Bainbridge Island died of acute leukemia Aug. 15, 2000, on Bainbridge Island.
She was born April 30, 1915, in Snohomish to Cyrus and Margaret (Nelson) Gephart.
She graduated in 1933 from Everett High School and in 1937 from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Everett.
She served in the Army from 1942 to 1950, achieving the rank of captain.
She married Dr. Albert Hurley on Jan 9, 1949, in Everett. He preceded her in death this year.
Mrs. Hurley was a nurse and homemaker for 67 years.
She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island, the Audubon Society and the Women’s Literary Club.
Survivors include four daughters, Saralinda Larson of Tacoma, Molly Hurley of Seattle, Mary Frances Hurley and Eileen Safford, both of Bainbridge Island; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 11 am Aug 31 at St Cecilia Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
