Hi Julie - Great job! Thank you for posting. Perhaps you can help clear up a problem that has perplexed me for sometime now.It involves the marriage of Rebeckah Safford, daughter of John and Sarah Low(e) Safford to Jonathan (Nathan) Wheeler on 13 Jan 1689/90 in Rowley Village later Boxford, Essex, Massachusetts. This marriage has been cited in many of the lines I have been researching, and their sources seem to originate with I have not been able to find a satisfactory source for this marriage that seems to be challenged by the recorded marriage of Nathan Wheeler to Elizabeth Safford, a sister to Rebeckah, on the same date, in Rowley and published by: (1) "Vital Records Of Ipswich Massachusetts To The Year 1850"; Essex Quarterly Court records, comp., VITAL RECORDS OF IPSWICH MASSACHUSETTS TO THE YEAR 1850 ,. (Salem, MASS: THE ESSEX INSTITUTE; NEWCOMB & GAUSS Printers, 1910); and in (2)"Massachusetts Marriages, 1633-1850 Record"; Dodd, Jordan, Liahona Research, comp.. Massachusetts Marriages, 1633-1850 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: MyFamily.com, Inc., 2005. Original data: With some noted exceptions all marriage records in this collection can be found at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, and may be available through Family History Centers throughout the United States. Did Nathan(Jonathan) marry both sisters? Was this Nathan the same person as the Nathan Wheeler found in "Essex County, Massachusetts Depositions, 1636-86" Vol 7; p 156 as an 18 year old deposed in 1678 (Sanborn, Melinde Lutz, comp.. Essex County, Massachusetts Depositions, 1636-86 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: MyFamily.com, Inc., 2000. Original data: Index to the Deponent Records of the County of Essex, Massachusetts. Columbia Point, MA, USA: Massachusetts Archives, 1988.)? In the NEHGS Register of 1973, Vol 127 p 85 in an entry entitled "Boynton Correction" referencing an earlier article "The Family of Ebenezer Chadwick" NEHGS Vol 124, page 18, note 2, Jan 1970, "Actually, the first wife of Ebenezer Boynton, was Sarah Wheeler, the daughter of Nathan and Rebecca (Stafford) Wheeler of Newbury, Mass., born there 4 July 1692" Any information that you may be able to furnish would be greatly appreciated.
