I think we are cousins by marriage then.

Alva died in 1931 and Ethel remarried Carl John Engel (my grandfather) in 1934. They had one son William Carl Engel in 1937. Leila was my aunt and Lindus, Lewis, Edwal, and Carlyle (Chip) are my uncles as they are my father's half brothers.

Ethel and Carl are buried in Iron Hill Cemetary, Jackson County, IA. I believe that Lindus is buried there as well. My father and I are planning a trip to Maqouketa this summer to visit the cemetary.

I was looking back along the Said line trying to find more information surrounding my grandmother Ethel, as information regarding her father, Thomas Winifred Shuemaker, and her mother, Alvie Harp is difficult to find.

When things get back to normal, please email me directly at tldietz@alltel.net. I would love to know more about the Sade's especially how they are related to Astronomer Royal Sir Edmund Halley.

Thanks for the help!
