One general suggestion, oe specific one. In general, we shy away from airing dirty laundry in public IF it is about living people. Your post told the whole world about a murder and an elderly fellow in a nursing home who isn't right inth ehead. He deserves his privacy.
A KEY descendant in Tennessee has a PRF entry for Walton. The PRF is the LDS equivalent of the WFT CD's.
Go to

Enter Walton Saint with spouse Stockman. According to it, Walton was born in 1904 and his parents were John W. Saint and Ruth J. Key.
Searching the same page for John Saint married to Ruth Key reveals one IGI citation and two PRF citations. They married02 NOV 1890 in Marshall, Alabama.

have a John Saint married to a Ruth, Ruby or Rurhie Key; none of them have dates.
I hope this helps. Your next step might be to write for the marriage record; with luck it will mention John's parents.
Another step would be to write or e-mail the people who have John and Ruth. (Send a SASE to the PRF contributors). Ask them what their sources are. Offer to swap what you have - omitting dates on living individuals.
