Hi-
Sorry I haven't checked this forum for a while. Although the name is phonetically similar, I don't think there's a connection.
Dora arrived here in July 1909. Her father was Louis. Her mother, Goldie Schreiber, died when she was a child. Father remarried and began another family. I think she had one brother. She was about 15 when she arrived in NYC. Photos of my grandmother show a dark-haired, dark-eyed woman. My mother has said her hair was black with blue highlights. Mother is very insistent that her mother came from Hungary.
