My father, Mario Guadalupe Salazar Almaguer (not sure on spelling) is from El Cercado---his parents were Arturo Salazar and Manuela Almaguer (or Almaguer). My great-grandfather Salazar left El Cercado for Southern California when my grandfather was a small boy. My grandfather and his mother never made it to California, and my great-grandfahter eventually remarried--I think he had a son and daughter out there--I don't know their names. My father has two brothers--Gilberto (Beto) Salazar, who now lives in Corpus Christi, and Lupe Salazar, who still lives in the house my father grew up in on 2 de Morelos in El Cercado (right across the street from the textile factory). Some of the Salazar family is related to the Alaniz family, which hails from a small town about 8-10 miles from El Cercado--La Boca. I'd be curious to know what our Salazar connection might be? I have notes on the Salazar family somewhere around---I'd be curious to know if your family knows or knew my part of the family.
